Meet The Tapir

Our meet the tapir animal encounter is one of the most special experiences at Woodside wildlife Park. Tulio is our heaviest and friendliest animal at the park. Coming from the wetlands of South America, this big guy has an even bigger appetite, and is always happy to come and take some tasty treats right from your hand.

Once Tulio has finished with his food, he is usually more than willing to let you give him a tickle, and maybe even a belly-rub!

The experience includes:

• 20 minutes with Tulio the Tapir.
• Hand-feeding various tasty treats.
• Stroking and interacting with him.
• Access into the actual enclosure, not just interaction through a fence.

Photos and videos are encouraged, and if you need an extra hand, your accompanying keeper will be more than happy to take them for you.

All this for only £20 per person!

Our Animal Encounters are group sessions, up to a maximum of four participants, and usually held during the afternoon.
